Introducing The 2017 Port Angeles Lefties

Oregon Player of the Year Dutton Elske and All-Star Trent Bryan Join Lefties

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—February 21, 2017—Port Angeles, WA—Flu season might be over, but Baseball Fever has hit the Peninsula hard: Lefties fans rock their gear through rainy streets and look to collegiate spring ball. They’ll want to keep an eye out for new Lefties Dutton Elske and Trent Bryan. Check out their snapshots below. Also remember, this is the last week for February Youth Baseball Camps. Walk-ups are welcome, and more camps will be announced soon.

Elske joins the Lefties from the University of Portland, where he is a catcher for Pilots Coach Geoff Loomis. Originally from Lake Oswego, OR, this 6’0” 200 lbs catcher bats and throws right. The 2016 6A Oregon Baseball Player of the Year, Elske is a hard worker and leader. A three-time selection to the All-Three Rivers League First Team and Oregon 6A/5A All-Star, he was also a very happy Chicago Cubs fan this year. Follow him on Twitter @duttonelske or Instagram @duttonelske7.

Bryan comes to us from Harvard, where he was an everyday starter in the left field as a Freshman for Crimson Coach William Decker. A Miami Beach native, this 6’2” 179 lbs switch hitter throws right. Before Harvard, Bryan was a four-year letter winner and team captain at shortstop for Miami Beach. A 2015 All-District selection, Trent was also Team MVP, Second team All-County and an Under Armour pre-season All-American in 2014 and 2015. He graduated cum laude with honors and was a Special Olympics volunteer.

Lefties Baseball is looking for Host Families. Find out more at www.leftiesbaseball.com/host-families. Also, Lefties Team Store is open at 17 ½ W First Street in downtown Port Angeles, along with the online store. Gear up and count down to opening day!

Winter Youth Camps are in full swing, with Spring Youth Camps on the way. The Lefties have teamed up with Puget Sound Collegiate League coaches to bring high-level youth training to the Peninsula. With a low coaches-to-camper ratio, every player receives individual attention and will be challenged at their level. All camps are held at Peninsula College Sigmar Field every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in February. Walk-ups are welcome, and camps are only $10. Sign your youth up now at www.leftiesbaseball.com/youth-camps.
