Lefties welcome Standout Catchers Branden Williams and Cullen Ray

For Immediate release-February 14th, 2017-Port Angeles, WA- The Port Angeles lefties are having a sweetheart of a Valentine’s Day, signing two big catchers to keep the plate safe. Branden Williams and Cullen Ray make their Peninsula debuts in June. Check out there snapshots below and start following their prgress in spring baseball. And remember your sweethearts of all ages, with 10-Game Packs available and Winter Youth Baseball Camps in session. Walk-ups are welcome!

Branden Williams

Williams joins the Lefties from UC Rivershide, where he is a catcher for Coach Troy Percival in the Big West Conference. An ex-football player, Williams is a big guy at 6’3″, 215 lbs. This Huntington Beach, CA native bats and throws right and played for the West Coast League’s Walla Walla Sweets last summer. Branden is a great catch and throw guy. His bat is good, but he’s even better behind the plate, and can play multiple positions on the field without a hiccup. Known for his defensive prowess, last year, Branden helped the Irvine Valley College Lasers advance to the super-regionals under Coach Kent Madole, whom he credits as being his biggest influence as an athlete. Williams is majoring in Media and Cultrual Studies and hopes to one day open a restaurant.

Cullen Ray

Ray comes to us from Arkansas State, where he’s a catcher for Coach Tommy Raffo in the Conference Sun Belt. A four-year letterman for Houston High School in Germantown, TN, Ray was named All-metro all four seasons and ranked as the third best catcher in Tennessee by Prep Baseball Report. he was selected as a Super Sophomore by the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association in 2014, and was named to the West Tennessee All-Star team and a Perfect Game Preseason All-American. At 6’2″, 205 lbs, this righty is another big body the Lefties will enjoy seeing behind the plate. Follow him on Twitter @cullenray_13.
