Introducing The 2017 Port Angeles Lefties
Lefties Pick Up Utility Players Mitchell Hagan and Nick Osborne
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—March 7, 2017—Port Angeles, WA—As the sun shines down on the Straight this week, giving us a glimpse of the beautiful summer days to come, the Port Angeles Lefties name two new utility players to the roster: pitcher and first baseman Mitchell Hagan and outfielder and pitcher Nick Osborne. Check out their snapshots below, and be sure to support your favorite Lefties in their collegiate conferences.
Hagan joins the Lefties from Grand Canyon University, where he pitches and plays first base for Coach Andy Stankiewicz in the WAC Conference. This 6’3”, 210 lb Omaha native started as a freshman at Omaha West High School, where he played an integral role in leading the Warriors to three consecutive NSAA State Baseball Championship titles. Hagan throws left and hits with power from both sides of the plate. Also a football player, Hagan is from a family of exceptional athletes: His dad played tennis for the University of Nebraska; his oldest brother is an assistant tennis coach at Iowa University, and another older brother plays football at Northern Illinois University. Considered the top first base and fifth overall prospect out of Nebraska, Hagan is excited to explore the Peninsula as a Port Angeles Leftie.
Osborne comes to the Lefties from Tennessee Tech, where he plays outfield and pitches for Coach Derek Weldon in the Ohio Valley Conference. This right-handed, 6’2”, 205 lb Pre-Physical Therapy major from Sevierville, TN attended Sevier County High School, where he received 2014 All-State honors, 2013 and 2014 All-District and TBCA Team honors, and was the 2014 IMAC Player of the Year. A utility man with a great fastball and hard slider, Hagan helped lead his team to the 2014 IMAC Championship. Follow him on Twitter and Instagram @ozzy12_.
